REVIEWING YOUR PARISH ECW

 

Spirituality:

Does God come first? Do you have devotions and prayer at every gathering?

Do you have a mission statement? Is it made known?

 

Communication:

Do you have names, address, phone numbers and email addresses for all women in your church?

Do you keep the women well informed?

Do you use church bulletins, newsletters, telephone and email?

Do you mail invitations for special events to all women in the church?

Do you have an informational booklet for each family and newcomer?

 

Program:

Do you have a variety of activities?

Do you plan some programs to include girls? Other family members?

Do you attend the annual Fall Diocesan ECW meeting? The ECW Spring Retreat?

Do you stay informed about diocese, province and national ECW activities?

Do you have at oleast one program yearly to include others from your community?

 

Inquire:

Has each woman felt welcomed and valued? Are friendships being formed?

Are the women who are active in ECW satisfied with the overall program?

Have the interests and needs of all women been addressed?

Has questioning your parish helped to find out what would interest more women?

Are you looking at the positives of your ECW?

 

Outreach:

Are you involved in community outreach?

Do you hold spring and fall United Thank Offering (UTO) ingatherings?

Do you observe Church Periodical Club and Miles of Pennies Sundays?

Are you aware of other ministries promoted by the diocese and national ECW?

 

Possible Pitfalls:

Are you expecting too much?

Are you spending too much time at meetings discussing business?

Are you forgetting to encourage leadership and committee involvement?

Did you have an annual budget?

Was making money your major accomplishment?

Did you forget to make a report at your Annual Parish Meeting?
